The Chairman Electoral Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Edo 2020 governorship primaries and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has pronounced Governor Godwin Obaseki as party’s candidate for September 19 poll.
Governor Bala Mohammed made this announcement earlier hours of Saturday at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, the venue of Edo PDP Primaries.

Obaseki polled over 2000 votes from the affirmation exercise by PDP delegates from 18 local government areas of the state.
The three other aspirants had on Friday before commencement of voting announced their decision to support Obaseki’s candidacy in Edo 2020 governorship poll.
The former aspirants are Engr Gideon Ikhine, Hon Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama and Kenneth Imasuagbon.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and his Zamfara counterpart, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Senators Lilian Ekwunife and Bala Bulus were part of PDP Electoral Committee.
Thousands of PDP members at venue were cheering Obaseki throughout the exercise. The PDP Candidate who is the incumbent governor of the state would face Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and 13 others during Edo 2020 governorship election.
