Hushpuppi’s Fraud, Show-Off Has Dented The Image Of Nigeria – Dabiri-Erewa

The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has revealed that Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi’s alleged fraud and show-off has dented the image of Nigeria.

Abiri-Erewa on Wednesday further stated that cybercrime has dented the image of the country before the global scene.

She charged Nigerians to stay off cybercrime and flaunting it like Hushpuppi who was arrested by the Dubai police and extradited to the US.

The NIDCOM boss while speaking with NAN noted that “Committing crime and still having the audacity to show off like Ramon Igbalode aka Hushpuppi. This is really denting our image as a people.”

“But like I always say, fraud does not represent who we are as Nigerians; hardworking, dedication and commitment is what we, as a country are known for.”

Recall that Hushpuppi and members of his gang were apprehended in June at their residences in Dubai by a combined team of Dubai police and operatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.

It was reported that the Nigerian and his gang members committed a fraud amounted to 1.6 billion dirhams ($435,611,200).
