PJAN Unveils Bye-Laws, Membership Identity Card, Hosts NUJ Lagos Council

Photojournalists Association of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter unveiled the association’s bye-laws and membership identity card at an end of year get together, held in Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday, December 19, 2020.

The Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Francis Komolafe while unveiling the two items said that this is a new dawn for PJAN. The former photo editor of Vanguard Newspapers and a PJAN veteran commended the new executives for the progress made so far.

In the same vein the special adviser to the Lagos NUJ chairman and the former NUJ Secretary, Mr. Alfred Odifa while unveilling the new regulations said that “the bye-laws will give direction to members to know what to do or what not to do as bonafide members of the association.” Odifa added that the newly unveiled laws  will help prevent constitutional crises like what the association experienced recently during its election process.

The chairman of the association, Otunba Kola Olasupo said that “the unveiling of the new bye-laws and membership identity cards is the association’s ongoing rebranding process of taking PJAN to an enviable height.”

Olasupo added that “PJAN has just registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria; so we are rebranding to fit into our new status as a fully government recognized association.”

The unveiling was witnessed by a large turnout of members.
The members of the association were delighted wearing their new I.D. cards and reading through the newly unveiled bye-laws.

A members of the association, Mr. Sunday Eshiett commended the effort of the new executives of PJAN for their proactiveness and success achieved so far in its short tenure.

Other Veterans and members that attended the event are: Mr. Akinola Ariyo, Pastor Sunday Adedeji, Mr. Idowu Ogunleye, Other elders include: Mr. Oseni Yusuf, Mr. Moses Omosehin and another representative of NUJ.
