The Diocesan Bishop of Lagos (Anglican Communion), The Rt Rev Humphrey Olumakaiye rejoice and said that we are thankful to God for sparing our lives to see this day despite the Covid 19 pandemic.
Bishop Olumakaiye made this known at a Christmas Message after the service on Friday at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina Lagos.
He said: “In the midst of the troubled world we should have faith in God and Christ come to give us that peace. The Prince of Peace even in the midst of troubled world, broken world. We should have that absolute peace with God. Inward peace, outward peace and also upward peace. And when we have peace with God definitely everything will be okay.”
The lesson at this celebration is that God answers prayers in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic. We could see God in action. We could see God manifesting Himself even in His own kingdom, here we are alive when people thought that many would have died but we are alive and raising banner of victory. That is an assurance that we are serving a living God. That our God is still there and He is reigning in the affairs of men.
On his good will message to Christian he said: “We should just continue to live total life at the end of the tunnel there will be light. Our God is on the throne, our God is still reigning and he is still in the business of creation. He loves us so much , He will never allow us to be jesting, to be sorrowful because He promise us everlasting joy and eternal peace.”
Responding to issue of cross over ban, Olumakaiye said: “Keep hope alive and also to hold on tenousiously to the word of God. The Word of God is the one that can renew us, that can refresh us, that can give us eternal growth even in the troubled world. When we keep hope alive, then we continue to increase, we progress and everything will be okay because God will never make a mistake.”
