Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has intensified his consultations across the globe on possible ways of enhancing economic recovery for Nigeria ahead of the 2023 presidential election slated for February, 2023, as he visits Director General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Peter Obi, who was governor of Anambra State has also felicitated with the Nigerian-born Kemi Badenoch, who is a United Kingdom Member of Parliament on her recent appointment as Secretary of State for international trade by the new UK Prime Minister, Truss Liz.

In her verified Twitter handle @NOIw; the WTO DG, who also posted a photograph with the presidential candidate, noted that the discussions centred around the role of international trade in achieving Nigeria’s economic recovery.

Meanwhile, in a congratulatory message to the Nigerian-born UK PM, the Labour Party presidential candidate wrote on his verified Twitter handle @Peter Obi: “I am delighted by the appointment of Nigerian-born Kemi Badenoch, UK MP as the Secretary of State for International Trade by the new UK Prime Minister, Truss Liz.

“By Kemi Badenoch’s appointment into this very powerful position, my confidence is renewed in the abundant potential with which Nigerians are endowed. In our journey to rescuing the nation, we hope to not only work with the most innovative and productive minds, but create a nation where every Nigerian will freely thrive and live out their full potential.

“I heartily congratulate Rt. Hon. Truss Liz on her emergence as the next Prime Minister of the UK via a keenly contested electoral process. Her emergence is a testament to the strength and resilience of a true democracy”

Recall that following his emergence as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, which has ever since sent cold shivers down the spines of the governing All Progressives Congress APC and the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Peter Obi had embarked on worldwide consultations on possible ways of revamping Nigeria’s currently battered economy across sectors ranging agriculture, manufacturing, energy and international trade, among others.
