…Nigeria’s June 12@30: Groups Campaign For Late MKO Symbol On Naira After Prayers, Olubadan Clamour For Merit In Governance

…MKO Abiola’s Son Supports Tinubu Work In Progress On Nigeria Democracy

Olubadan of Ibadan Land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Mahud Olalekan Alabi Okunmade II, has described the enormous history of June 12 in Nigeria and Late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola Anniversary of June 12,1993 Victory and Nigeria Democracy style of Government, as important as to be nurtured to encourage power to the people in Nigeria.

The Monach, ably represented by Moye Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oloye Lekan Alabi call upon the Nigeria President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restore the Nigeria dignity of human persons that the colonialists have taken away, by taking all criticism as equal to ensure that all prepared appointments be based on merit as other coalition groups re-echoed and re-proposed new MKO N2000 Note on Thursday, 22nd June, 2023.

Olubadan clamour for merit as one of the dreams that Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and MKO Abiola stood for, and so desired that no Nigerian should stand against it, but to stand for an appointment by merit in Nigeria.

He expressed therefore that if anyone wants to know the nexus between the June 12, 1993 anniversary lecture and the martyr for democracy MKO.

The message of Olubadan was made loud by the Cultural Ambassador, Ile Ife Museum and National Monument, Secretary General, MKO Abiola Dynamic Group (founded 1992 in Ibadan), Oloye Alabi to the August gathering as he said: “That is message of Adelabu that please base all appointments on merit, which was what Chief Obafemi Awolowo stood for, this was what Bashorun Abiola stood for. And we have seen the signs now President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is standing for; All Nigerians should stand for merit”.

Islamic Professor/Director of Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Prof. Ishaq Akintola who also represents Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, Chairman of Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Lagos State, Ishaq Akintola in his duo capacity led the prayers around MKO Abiola’s graveyard, by reciting Suratul Ilahi, to demand for Allah’s Paradise without tears again for the Late MKO Abiola and Wives.

He thereby cautioned Nigerians to be very patient in rushing and judging the national appointments set by the current President, that the food is still in the kitchen, and it is only when it is done, that it would accordingly be served, so Nigeria must not scramble it.

And he appealed to the Nigeria President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to consider the fear and doubt of ethic group and religious critics to do the people of the country good.

He called upon Muslim faithful as we entered into the Ramadan season, to celebrate Eid El Kabir “Ileya festival” with the laid down lesson of the Holy Quran, by sacrificing to honour the God Almighty and fulfil their promises accordingly. He said it is a season of sacrifice. How many are prepared to make sacrifices, what type of sacrifice?

He narrated that the only Son of a Prophet might have been used for a sacrifice according to the Holy Book, before Allah sent a Ram for the sacrifice to replace an only son.

Akintola however charged Nigeria Politicians to be fair in the discharge of their duties all across the nation to fulfil their promises. “I appeal to Politicians to fulfil promises, remember the poor. There is hunger in the land. The palliatives should start coming!”

Conversely, Oloye Alabi said: “Any government or the incumbent should operate based on the constitution of Nigeria. Two, they should take all citizens as equal. Three, all should be based on merit. And I have quoted the 1952 book of Adegoke Adelabu “Africa in Revolution” because I am the president of Adegoke Adelabu Foundation.”.

“Now that President Tinubu has taken over, I now challenge the government, he should note that the government alone cannot do anything in a country without the support of the people”. That this government should please operate with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”. That all tribes are equal, there are no superior tribes as practiced by the immediate government where everything was almost Fulani, FGN was turned on its head to mean Fulani Government of Nigeria whereas it should be Federal Government of Nigeria”, said Olubadan.

The visits to Lagos on Thursday rendered Prayer’s service and pay homage to MKO Abiola Family and All June 12 Victims, at his 30 years Anniversary. He thereafter distributed 25 copies of Book Souvenirs titled “June 12: Lest We Forget” and stated that it was printed for the programme held in respect of the late MKO 21st Anniversary at Ibadan.

On his part, at the occasion, the late Chief MKO’s and Alhaja Kudirat Abiola’s Son, Alhaji Olalekan Yushau Abiola submitted in his address, that until the economy of Nigeria improves in the way we want in Nigeria over electricity generation, unemployment and security, no Citizen of Nigeria is fulfilled!

While he expressed happiness as the Democracy has prevailed in Nigeria for more than 20 years now, and saluted the President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his ongoing arrangements, and concept of work to make Democracy thrive in Nigeria. “That indeed! it is still a work in progress”, he stated.

National Coordinator of the Coalition of Pro-Democracy Group for Better Nigeria, Comrade Awa Bamiji said, the Prayer section marked the 8 months rounding up activities to honour the Late Chief MKO Abiola and the Families, and victims of June 12, 1993 election adjudged as the freest and fairest election that was annulled by the former then Military President otherwise known as Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida a.k.a IBB in Nigeria years ago.

He congratulated Nigerians, as he rejoices in his statement, that now Nigeria has renewed hope to end the bad story after 30 years, because the carnations of hope 93, is in place now. Simply because the tribe which the cabal would not want to attain the Aso Rock seat, finally got there! “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has become the Nigeria President to teach the evil doers a big lesson, he said”.

Due to Leader of Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti’s old age as he is now 97-year-old waiting for him to be celebrated as the greatest honour to be bestowed on him by Yoruba Nation, he unilaterally nominated Convener, Awa to stand in for him to be celebrated soon in his Akure home in September for Yoruba National Day Celebration.
