Just a little above 2 years of his peaceful reign in Ibadan, it’s sad to receive the news of the passage unto glory of Oba (Dr.) Senator Olalekan Ishola Balogun Alli Okunmade II, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, who passed on yesterday’s evening at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State.

According the early news item sent by the Are – Apapo (President – General), Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba (Grand Council of Yoruba Youths), Ajijagbara (Comrade) Awa Bamiji made available to TheForesight Media Platform in Lagos today Friday 15th, March 2024.

He stated that: “We were about sending this adjusted Press Release out to celebrate his life, 2nd Anniversary on the throne, before the news filtered in and compulsorily, we are now using it to mourn him”

“Life and death” are twin words that every soul must taste and it our prayer we have long, if not longest, distance between both of them as it was in the case of late Kabiyesi. Everything the has beginning, must have an end!

…He came, he saw and he conquered! Therefore, we must take solace in the fact that he left us at a ripe age.

“We therefore, commiserate with the family, Olubadan In Council, Oyo State Traditional Council, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as well as good People of Oyo State. May God Almighty grant his soul sweet repose, Amen.
