…To Announce Philip Shaibu As Running Mate
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, on Saturday presented the party’s Certificate of Return to the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki as winner of Edo 2020 Governorship Primary Election.
Governor Obaseki emerged as PDP governorship candidate unopposed during primaries held on Thursday at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.
The governor was accompanied by his deputy, Hon Philip Shaibu. A credible source told our correspondent that Obaseki will announce Shaibu as running mate for Edo 2020 governorship poll slated for September 19.
The Chairman PDP Electoral Committee for Edo 2020 Governorship primary election and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed pronounced Obaseki PDP candidate after polling over 90 percent votes.
Three others aspirants had stepped down for incumbent governor of Edo state before commencement of voting.
