A member of the House of Representatives, Eti Osa Federal Constituency, Babajide Ibrahim Obanikoro emphasised on the need to sacrifice during and after the Eid al-Adha celebration.
When asked the significant of the Eid celebration, Obanikoro noted that the significant is surrounded by the instruction of Allah to give sacrifice to him as a means of appreciation. He said; ‘Unfortunately, the pandemic is around but this will not stop us from doing our spiritual duties.’
Obanikoro, in his Eid al-Adha message to the people of Eti Osa, prayed that they witness more of the celebration in good health and wealth. He enjoined his people to keep observing the safety measures put in place to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
Also, Hon. Abdul-Sobur Olawale Olayiwola, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Mushin constituency II, while expressing the significant of Eid said, the festival symbolises a disaster turn joy when Allah sent Angel Jubril to present a ram to Prophet Ibrahim instead of slaughtering his only child.
Omititi, as foundly called pointed that this year’s celebration is so significant because of the coronavirus pandemic. He added, ‘this celebration calls for sober reflection because every right thinking person will realize that this is a time to be close to God.’
‘If we think deeply, we definitely know that every soul shall taste death. The lesson learnt from this period is to move closer to God. Also, patience is a very big key in the story of Prophet Ibrahim dealings with His creator.’
Omititi assured the people of his constituency that coronavirus will soon be long gone. However, it is upon everyone on how long, warning that only if the guidelines are strictly adhered to. Finally, the Mushin politician wished everyone Eid Mubarak.
In the same vein, the Chairman, Rainbow Limited and Ogun Construction Company, Alhaji Whaeed Ogunbiyi while addressing pressmen said the significant of Eid al-Adha described the festival as a believe to Allah.
He further implore the government, muslims and other faithful beings to learn from the story of Prophet Ibrahim by fulfilling every promise made to people. He said it is significant to the Muslims way of life.
While appreciating their customers, he urged them to celebrate safe because of the unexpected contagious virus. He concluded by admonishing everyone to pray to Allah so the pandemic can come to an end.
Ogunbiyi, who is a well known philanthropist expressed his readiness to keep giving out to the needy. He voiced out to reject claims that he had been doing this good deeds with the help of the government.
