Deschamps: Griezmann Isn’t Happy At Barcelona

Antoine Griezmann is currently with the French national team during the current international break, and his coach Didier Deschamps has declared that the former Atletico Madrid star isn’t happy at Barcelona.

After living through a difficult debut season in Catalonia, where he couldn’t find the form he had shown in Madrid, things haven’t yet improved in 2020/21.

“I am convinced that he isn’t happy with his current situation at Barcelona,” Deschamps confirmed.

“If he was to say anything publicly then I don’t think Ronald Koeman would be happy to hear it.

“I don’t want to talk about what happens at clubs, but Griezmann is currently on the right wing, I can’t understand why he isn’t playing in a more central role.”

Deschamps has historically used Griezmann as a second-forward just situated behind one of Olivier Giroud or Kylian Mbappe, depending on the selection of wide players available.

The issue regarding Griezmann’s happiness isn’t likely to go away anytime soon, especially after he was publicly chastised by Koeman for missing chances in the 1-1 draw with Sevilla.

“He has had two chances and a player of his quality should have scored one of those,” Deschamps added.
